2016 Global Impact Overview

In 2015, MetLife set goals that relate to interactions with employees, customers, suppliers, communities and the environment. This is our first report on progress toward these goals. We plan to report on progress every year, as we strive to make a global impact.

One of the goals Metlife set was to commit over $200 million over five years to help people all over the world get access to quality financial services. A commitment that would help those people build better lives. They are currently on target with their goal having already committed $123 million.

They also set goals to reduce energy consumption and become a carbon neutral company in 2016 and beyond. Metlife is on track with their goal to reduce energy consumption by 10% by the year 2020. The company achieved carbon neutrality in 2016 in part by renewable energy generation.
